CPAP/BiPAP Cleaning Guide
Cleaning a PAP machine is important for maintaining hygiene, ensuring the device functions properly and infection control. Here's a step-by-step guide:
Step 1: Gather Supplies
Facility approved anti-bacterial wipes (make sure they are approved for Candida Auris)
Replacement Pollen and Bacterial
Gloves
Step 2: Unplug the Machine
Ensure the BiPAP machine is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
Step 3: Disassemble Parts
Apply gloves.
Remove any detachable parts like the mask, tubing, water chamber and air filters. (Note: The cleaning process for these parts may vary and they are not covered in this guide).
Step 4: Cleaning the Exterior
Wipe Down the Machine: Using the approved anti-bacterial wipes, gently wipe the exterior of the PAP machine.
Once wiped down, let dry for five minutes.

Step 6: Reassemble and Plug In
Once the machine is dry, reassemble any parts that were removed.
Plug the machine back into the power source and turn on to ensure it's working properly.
